About The Project
BALTIC & NORTH SEA
Supporting the EU Mission Restore our Ocean & Waters
BlueMissionBANOS 2030 accelerates and scales the implementation of the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030” across the Baltic and North Sea. Building on BlueMissionBANOS and BlueActionBANOS, the project consolidates National Mission Hubs in 12 countries as the backbone of Mission delivery, embedding Mission objectives in national governance and innovation systems and mobilising ministries, agencies, funders, businesses, researchers and citizens.
2026 TO 2029
What the project will deliver
Over three years (September 2026 to August 2029), 20 partners will align stakeholders and initiatives through the National Mission Hubs and Transition Labs, drive the replication and scale-up of proven solutions through showcases, matchmaking and national BlueBioMatch groups, and open new funding pathways by convening national and basin-level Tables of Funders and promoting Mission-aligned procurement. A harmonised BANOS Monitoring Framework will track progress and keep policy aligned, a Citizen Playbook and engagement formats will bring citizens and underrepresented groups into the Mission, and three flagship Mission Arenas will showcase solutions and bring funders together. The project also links the Baltic and North Sea to the other Mission basins and to the UN Ocean Decade.
